| Nuclear scan (thallium stress test) |
This test shows the working of the heart muscle as blood flows through the heart. A small amount of radioactive material is injected into a vein, usually in the arm, and a camera records how much is taken up by the heart muscle. |

a test that uses a special camera to take a series pictures of the pumping chambers (ventricles) of the heart to check their size and blood-pumping ability; the most accurate test for measuring the pumping function of the heart; also known as radionuclide ventriculography or a multigated acquisition scan (MUGA) |
